Joe Harris has been sailing since he was a kid, growing up on Long Island Sound.
Joe has owned 5 boats: A 35' wood sloop, a C&C 40, an Aerodyne 38, an Open 50 and a Class 40.
Joe moved from day racing around the bouys to offshore racing double and then single-handed.
12 Newport-Bermuda races, 5 Marblehead to Halifax, 5 Bermuda One-Two, 6 Trans-Atlantic, a Fastnet and a Normandy Channell race were all a tune up to sailing solo around the world in 2015 in 150 days. That was followed in 2022/23 by competing in the Globe 40 RTW DH race- 8 legs completed in160 days at sea. The next adventure awaits.
